🚀 Big news in the #crypto world! A federal judge has dismissed part of the SEC's lawsuit against Binance and its founder Changpeng Zhao, but let other charges proceed. The charges include those against the holding company for Binance.US.

👩‍⚖️ The judge ruled that the SEC's charges for the initial coin offering, ongoing sales for BNB, BNB Vault, staking services, failure to register, and fraud charges can proceed. However, charges tied to secondary BNB sales and Simple Earn were dismissed.

🔍 The SEC had brought similar charges against Coinbase, Kraken, Consensys, and MetaMask. The judge noted that the differentiation between alleged investment contracts and the tokens themselves is consistent with the Supreme Court’s definition of a 'security.'
