A few weeks ago, I got scammed out of $133. Before that, I used to wonder how people get scammedāthinking it was ridiculous that they couldnāt identify a scammer and would get scammed so easily. But I understood once I got scammed for the very first time.
The scammer who scammed me was using the username tothemoon Telegram. When I messaged him about a monthly package, he sent me a picture of the monthly and yearly packages. Right from the start, I asked him if you can answer me on Binance Square, I will join only otherwise i won't. He replied that they donāt answer on Binance. At that time, the real #ToTheMoon account was very inactive and wasnāt posting anything. I tried to make excuses to convince him to answer me on Binance, but he was really smart. He gave me two minutes to decide whether I would join or not, saying he would block me if I didnāt respond. In that moment, I fell victim to the scammer. I thought that if he really blocked me, I would miss out on an opportunity, so I told him I would join and sent him $50.
A few hours later, he said he had an offer for me: if I sent him an additional $100, he would double it in two days, taking only $20 on each $100. So, I sent him the remaining amount. After two days, he deleted his Telegram account. I actually thanked him for scamming me, because I had been thinking of depositing more money the following week, hoping he could earn me a big profit. This experience opened my eyes.
The main purpose of this post is to share tips on how to avoid and stay safe from scammers. Hereās the most unique trick to use against these scammers
1. Ask them for their social media accounts, such as X, Facebook, or Binance Square. If youāre following the person on Binance Square, ask them to respond to you there.
2. Open their profile on Binance and check their accounts. They should have a pinned post about where they post their signals.
