Common crypto scams
1️⃣. 👉"Fake Offers and Airdrops" This scam promises you free tokens or NFTs that will encourage you to click on a malicious link. Once you click on the link, which is usually found in an NFT spam or fake ad, it directs you to a malicious website to connect your wallet or approve a transaction. If you do, it will drain your wallet!
⚠️ Assume any
#NFTnesolicitat in your wallet is a scam and never click on any links in them.
✅ Use trusted banners, or verified apps in
#WEB3APP to access apps and airdrops.
2️⃣ 🍆 Customer Support Imposters Imposters of
Customer Support Imposters This involves scammers pretending to be a customer support representative or another user to trick you into providing sensitive information. They often provide a fake email address or a link to a website where they ask you to divulge your passphrase or sign a malicious transaction. Why? To drain your wallet.
⚠️ Never follow links in unsolicited support messages.
✅ You can safely access the support team by opening the
#Web3Wallet wallet and going to Settings > Help & Support > Start a Chat > Submit a Ticket.
3️⃣ ⚠ 🛑 Hacked or fake social media accounts
Sometimes sophisticated hackers impersonate users or gain control of the official social media accounts of brands you follow. When they do, they often post links to fake airdrops, pass lists, or giveaways. If you're not careful, you might think it's legit and click to connect your wallet. If you do, they will drain your wallet.
