SpaceX successfully launched its second set of Starlink satellites today (November 14th) in an impressive display of efficiency, reports Space com. At 8:21 am EST, a Falcon 9 rocket carrying 24 Starlink satellites lifted off from Florida's Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, following a morning launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
This dual-launch effort underscores SpaceX's commitment to expanding the Starlink constellation, aimed at providing high-speed internet to remote and underserved areas globally. A weathered booster on its 18th flight landed smoothly on the SpaceX droneship "Just Read the Instructions" in the Atlantic Ocean, further showcasing the reusability of SpaceX technology.
The Starlink constellation now exceeds 6,560 active satellites, bringing SpaceX closer to its goal of global internet coverage. The droneship JRTI, operating out of Port Canaveral, is a modified barge designed to recover Falcon boosters at sea, enhancing SpaceX's launch capabilities.
