Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), after a month of trial, was found guilty in Manhattan.
On Thursday, following less than five hours of deliberation, the jury rendered the verdict: guilty on seven charges of fraud and conspiracy. The most severe charges could lead to up to 20 years in prison each, summing to over a century behind bars.
This verdict marks a victory for U.S. Attorney Damian Williams.
As the verdict was announced, Bankman-Fried stood in the courtroom with his hands clasped in front of him, looking towards the jury. His father, Joseph Bankman, collapsed as the guilty verdicts were read out.
