Binance, the world’s biggest crypto exchange, is getting rid of pairs for 20 altcoins as part of its cleanup efforts. Here’s what you need to know.
Binance, a major cryptocurrency exchange, is removing 20 pairs involving BUSD and 20 altcoins as they work on cleaning up their pairs, especially those involving BUSD. Binance mentioned that they regularly review all the pairs they offer to protect users and maintain a strong trading market. Some pairs are being removed due to factors like low trading volume. Here are the pairs they are removing.
Binance is removing several pairs of cryptocurrencies paired with BUSD and BIDR at different times on September 8, 2023. These pairs include AUDIO, BAT, BSW, CITY, CVX, FORTH, JUV, MOB, OGN, OMG, PLA, POLS, REI, RSR, SCRT, TVK, ADA, MATIC, UTK, and ZIL.
It’s important to note that removing these pairs from spot trading doesn’t mean you can’t trade these cryptocurrencies anymore on Binance. You can still buy and sell them using other pairs.
What Does “Pair” Mean?
Pairs are like a comparison between two different currencies. They tell you how much one currency is valued in terms of another currency. For instance, in the USD/TRY pair, you can see how many Turkish Liras you get for one US dollar.
In the cryptocurrency market, pairs work the same way. For example, in the AUDIO/BUSD pair, you can see how many BUSD you can get for one AUDIO. Likewise, in the ADA/BIDR pair, you can find out how much one ADA is worth in BIDR.
