Vitalik Buterin proposed a new approach to strengthen the decentralization of the platform

Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Efirium, presented to the community a new approach aimed at strengthening the decentralization of the platform by introducing penalties for simultaneous failures between validators.

Buterin's proposal aims to create economic incentives for the formation of a decentralized staking system by introducing "anti-correlation penalties". The essence of the innovation is to penalize validators depending on how much their failure rate deviates from the norm of the Efirium network.

The penalty mechanism will level the playing field between large players and individual participants and make single-stacking and maintaining a separate infrastructure for each validator more cost-effective: Buterin added.
