The #Dencun upgrade was successfully deployed on the Ethereum mainnet at 1:55pm UTC on March 13.
#Dencun is the most anticipated hard fork since Merge and is expected to significantly reduce the transaction fees of the layer 2 network and enhance the overall scalability of Ethereum
According to Arthur Breitman, co-founder of the #Tezos #blockchain, although the Dencun upgrade is a step in the right direction, it will not improve all the shortcomings of the layer 2 solution. He opined:
“The #Dencun upgrade does the bare minimum to expand usable data by aggregation on Ethereum, which will reduce transaction costs in these L2 solutions. This is a step in the right direction, but ultimately, rollups built on Ethereum are still heavily limited in throughput and forced to adopt extreme centralization measures.”
