According to PANews, the Cosmos-based Layer 1 blockchain Canto experienced a disruption following the 'Callisto' upgrade on Saturday, UTC time. The mainnet went down around 18:43 UTC (02:43 Beijing time on August 11), and since the interruption, the blockchain has been unable to process new transactions. On Sunday afternoon, Canto's X account acknowledged the disruption, attributing the downtime to a 'consensus issue.' Canto announced that an upgrade aimed at resolving the issue would take place at 12:00 UTC on August 12 (20:00 Beijing time on August 12) and assured users that their funds remain secure.
