According to Odaily, Taiko has officially announced that the proportion of Layer 2 (L2) fees flowing to Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) will be determined based on the situation. Users have the option to pay a 0% tip, in which case the DAO will receive 100% of the fees.

There may be individuals who engage in high-value transactions and are willing to pay higher tips to ensure their transactions are included, thereby providing the DAO with a larger share. The formula determining what percentage of fees Taiko receives is decided by EIP-1559, and depends on the actual congestion on the L2 network.

This move by Taiko provides flexibility to users while ensuring the DAO's operational costs are covered. It also allows for a more efficient allocation of resources based on the network's congestion levels. The decision to use EIP-1559 for determining fees is in line with the protocol's aim to create a more predictable and fair fee market for its users.
