According to PANews, Dfinity Foundation, a major contributor to the Internet Computer blockchain, plans to invest $15 million in an accelerator platform named Olympus. Olympus supports the development and adoption of web3 technology across multiple ecosystems. Dfinity has stated that this accelerator platform is a global first and will be used by global teams to organize and launch their own accelerator projects.
Dfinity, headquartered in Zurich, has indicated that by the end of this year, Olympus will transition into a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO). This funding will be used to support the development and maintenance of the Olympus platform and fund the first few accelerator batches. These accelerators will support projects built on the Internet Computer, but thanks to its support for multiple chains like Bitcoin and Ethereum, projects are not limited to the Internet Computer blockchain.
Dfinity has stated that in the future, batches will be funded through Token Generation Events (TGEs). Olympus will provide an integrated platform, offering a one-stop solution for grants, crowdfunding, venture capital, and referral services, to achieve open and sustainable project acceleration. Additional support for the Olympus platform will be provided by Hong Kong's Web3Labs.
