To a certain extent of this widening collaboration, Lotte is also anticipated to get what would be the biggest-ever grant in ARB tokens from the Arbitrum Foundation.
Historically, Lotte Group has explored blockchain technology having unveiled its metaverse development plans in the beginning at CES one year ago.
Arbitrum has continuously set its position as a prominent player in the Web3 gaming space. In December, the project introduced Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E.
The Lotte Group of South Korea has exploited the Ethereum layer 2 network Arbitrum to intensify its artificial intelligence-piloted metaverse platform, Lotte Caliverse.
At CES 2025 it was publicized by the chief executive officer of Arbitrum developer, Steven Goldfeder that Arbitrum’s blockchain has 250ms block times and it is the ideal home ground for Caliverse, allowing high-quality performance within digital worlds and gaming experiences.
Goldfeder further went on to add that the Arbitrum technology stack will offer users an ideal and consumer-friendly experience, placing a new standard for Arbitrum-based interactivity in digital worlds.
Arbitrum Powers Lotte Caliverse
Made in partnership with gaming industry giants such as Epic Games, using technologies such as Unreal Engine 5, the Lotte Caliverse provides a metaverse platform and features experiences such as digital shopping with real-world product deliveries, and emerging gaming experiences consisting of the freshly announced “Caliverse: Invasion.”
The platform will emphasize brands from Lotte Group’s immense portfolio, consisting of Lotte Duty-Free, Lotte HiMart, and Lotte Cinema, next to globally recognized names such as Givenchy, MCM, L’Occitane, fresh, 7-Eleven, and the well-known electronic music festival, Tomorrowland.
In the beginning, Caliverse went live in August 2024 and is so far accessible for users to experience, but the amalgamation with Arbitrium will add crypto payments to the platform. The recent developments made on Lotte Group’s strategic collaboration with Arbitium, which was publicized in 2024 places Arbitrium as the major blockchain infrastructure provider for Caliverse.
To a certain extent of this widening collaboration, Lotte is also anticipated to get what would be the biggest-ever grant in ARB tokens from the Arbitrum Foundation. This deal is still under discussion and has yet to be concluded, as per the officials of the Arbitrum.
The metaverse development plans
Historically, Lotte Group has explored blockchain technology having unveiled its metaverse development plans in the beginning at CES one year ago. In 2023, the firm partnered with Ethereum sidechain Polygon to broaden its NFT initiatives.
At the same time, Arbitrum has continuously set its position as a prominent player in the Web3 gaming space. In December, the project introduced Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E., a multiplayer shooter game that leverages blockchain to allow web3-based experiences.
In June last year, the project revealed a $215 million funding program to back game developers in an effort to boost the Web3 gaming sector. As per the Dappradar, the blockchain at present hosts more than 100 games, with the top games being CryptantCrab Prime, Zeeverse, and others.
