Bitcoin Mining Powered by Over 56% Clean Energy
The percentage of clean or sustainable energy used in mining is currently 56.76%. Since April 2021, BTC's clean energy usage has been steadily increasing. The platform uses the Cambridge Center for Alternative Finance's definition of sustainability in its calculations to measure the use of clean energy, with relevant metrics depending on the proportion of crypto mining operations using energy sources such as wind, solar, hydro, and even nuclear power.
