The French financial regulator, Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF), has granted approval for BPCE’s cryptocurrency subsidiary, Hexarq, to operate as a crypto asset service provider (CASP). This authorization allows Hexarq to offer a range of crypto services, including custody and trading in cryptocurrencies against the Euro.

With over 35 million customers across its Banque Populaire and Caisse d’Épargne networks, BPCE’s entry into the crypto market could be significant. As per reports, Hexarq plans to integrate its crypto app into these banking networks by 2025. So far, the AMF has only approved four CASPs, with BPCE’s Hexarq being the latest addition.
