Kaiko analysts reckon there’s a chance, though they don’t think it’s worth getting your hopes up for bitcoin at $120,000 by year-end (sad). The options data, as seen below, looks promising for a bullish December finale. There are far more calls than puts. However, analysts think that any rally may be distributed across the ecosystem, with other coins getting a boost. “Any upcoming rallies will likely be much broader than last year. Since the election smaller layer-1 coins have been outperforming BTC and ETH as traders repricing risk amid regulatory shifts in the US,” the analysts wrote. Oh, and any Santa Rally we see may not follow the traditional timeline of a rally (meaning that it occurs in the last five days of the year into the first two days of the new year). Let’s just hope Santa and his elves don’t have to work too much harder for everyone’s bags, I guess. This just underpins what we’ve been hearing from analysts and folks around crypto, which is that they expect crypto to come out looking strong in the beginning half of next year. In this week’s Empire pod, Daniel Matuszewski of CMS Holdings and Roshun Patel from Hack both carried a bullish tone. Patel, in particular, thinks that there could be big ETF inflows in January but expects seasonality to be a factor once we inch towards the summer. “I think as you go into March or May, you can maybe think a little bit more about portfolio rebalancing, but for now it’s like. It feels pretty healthy,” he told Jason Yanowitz. On the other hand, Matuszewski said that altcoins could have a similar market cycle to what we’ve seen in the past. However, he still expects “crazy swings” from the likes of memecoins and AI chatbot tokens. If I’m being honest, I’d be more afraid if both memecoins and AI chatbots weren’t volatile. #Crypto

This will significantly improve the interoperability and usability of USDC across multiple platforms. Sui Network’s USDC Upgrade: Frictionless Transfers, Endless Possibilities Sui Network has integrated Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol, which allows users to safely transfer the USDC stablecoin between Sui and eight other blockchain networks. With the integration, USDC further improves its interoperability to become freely transferable across several blockchain platforms. The CCTP currently supports secure, one-to-one USDC transfers on Sui, along with Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Noble, OP Mainnet, Polygon PoS, and Solana. This feature easily enables users to move USDC between different blockchain ecosystems without the stress of currency conversion. As it goes on cross-chain transfers, transaction fees for sending and receiving chains generate an effective transfer. Sui has been one of the biggest gainers in the last week, gaining over 30% in only one day. The protocol works by using the native burn-and-mint mechanism: the original USDC gets burned on the source chain, while new native USDC is minted on the destination chain. This way, the value of the USDC will always stay pegged to the US dollar. This integration requires no third-party liquidity or fillers, thus guaranteeing high capital efficiency and minimizing trust assumptions. ⚡️ $XRP price rises ahead of RLUSD launch, but a reversal is possible The XRP price continued rising, becoming one of the best-performing large-cap cryptocurrencies in the market. Ripple (#XRP ) surged by over 12%, extending an uptrend that began on December 10 when the token bottomed at $1.9065. The rally came after Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple’s CEO, announced that the company would launch the RLUSD stablecoin on Dec. 17. The stablecoin will initially debut on major exchanges such as Uphold, Bitstamp, MoonPay, and others. The launch follows Ripple developers receiving approval from New York authorities after months of regulatory review. Ripple Labs aims for RLUSD to become a significant player in the stablecoin industry by offering enterprise-grade solutions. Additionally, Ripple hopes RLUSD will complement XRP to boost cross-border transaction volumes in the coming months. Still, RLUSD faces substantial risks ahead. The biggest risk is that it may not gain traction among users after all. Some stablecoins launched by big companies have failed to become popular in the past. For example, Justin Sun’s USDD stablecoin’s market cap has remained around $740 million since its launch in 2022. Similarly, PayPal USD, which was launched in 2023 by PayPal, has struggled and has $458 million in assets. On the other hand, Tether (USDT) has continued to grow its market share as its market cap has jumped to over $140 billion. It has become the most used stablecoin in the industry, with a market dominance of over 66%. 🔸 XRP price chart points to potential risks The other potential risk for the #Ripple price is that users may sell the news. This is a situation where users buy an asset in anticipation of a major event and then sell it when it happens. A good example of this is what happened after the last Bitcoin (BTC) halving in April. Bitcoin rose ahead of the halving and then retreated after it happened. Another technical risk for XRP is a developing double-top pattern at $2.90. A double-top is a bearish chart formation that often precedes a price pullback.
