In a game with 195 players that was attempted 482 times, one player managed to convince the AI agent Freysa to give out $47,000 in cryptocurrency. Freysa’s program has a rule that states that once a user decides to transfer funds, no amount of convincing can change that decision. Despite this, players tried various strategies to convince Freysa, including assuming the role of a security auditor.

Freysa charges a fee for each interaction, increasing exponentially with each message. 70% of these fees go into the prize pool, which reached $47,316.05 in this instance. The winning strategy involved tricking the AI into thinking that its “approveTransfer” function, designed for outgoing funds, could be used for incoming funds.

The player then proposed donating $100 to the treasury, which prompted Freysa to call “approveTransfer.”
