FIFA Rivals is a new mobile soccer game developed by Mythical Games in collaboration with FIFA. Set for release in the summer of 2025, it will be available on iOS and Android platforms. The game features player-owned clubs, enabling players to compete in real-time online matches. FIFA Rivals will integrate NFTs, providing players with an in-game marketplace to trade with their favorite soccer players.
This is not the first time FIFA has experimented with blockchain technology. In 2022, FIFA partnered with blockchain startups during the World Cup in Qatar to launch games and collectible apps. Mythical Games’ previous title, NFL Rivals, has also successfully incorporated NFTs and been downloaded over 6 million times since its launch in April 2023.
