An Ethereum researcher recently suggested a redesign of Ethereum’s consensus layer, called “Beam chain,” which could help with scalability. The proposal aims to transition from the current Beacon chain to the Beam chain, making transactions faster and more efficient. The Beam chain uses ZK-SNARKs, increasing privacy and scalability on blockchains.
Ethereum 3.0 was not announced, and the changes proposed by the researcher would only affect part of the network. While the plan is promising, it may take several years for the update to be implemented, tested, and widely accepted.
