WalletConnect changes its name to Reown and will launch WCT token
Foresight News reported that WalletConnect has announced it will be rebranded as Reown, continuing to be led by CEO Jess Houlgrave. The project also plans to launch a native token called Connect Token (WCT) and will be deployed on the OP mainnet. The registration for the WCT airdrop will open on September 24th. The airdrop eligibility structure is based on the usage of the WalletConnect network.
The newly established WalletConnect Foundation will manage the WalletConnect protocol. WalletConnect founder Pedro Gomes has joined the Foundation as a director, accompanied by Yessin Schiegg. Yessin was previously a board member of the Ethereum Foundation and recently served as the Chief Financial Officer of the Near Foundation.
