According to Odaily, cybersecurity firm Check Point Research has identified a new type of malware named Styx Stealer. This malware can steal a wide range of materials, including cryptocurrencies, through a mechanism known as 'clipping.' It is available for free rental on the developer's website. However, users with the latest Windows operating system are not at risk, as Styx Stealer relies on a vulnerability in Microsoft Windows Defender that was patched last year.

Check Point Research has identified eight wallets that may belong to the Turkey-based developers of Styx Stealer. These wallets received approximately $9,500 in cryptocurrency payments during the first two months of the malware's operation. The security team has also obtained the developer's Telegram account, email address, phone number, and other contact information.
