**Meta Denies Crypto Ad Scam Claims**
Meta, Facebook's parent company, has refuted allegations that over half of the crypto ads on its platform are scams. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) recently claimed that 58% of the reviewed crypto ads were fraudulent, citing data from 2018.
Meta argues the data is outdated and from a limited sample. A spokesperson emphasized that Meta has taken significant steps to combat scams, including manual reviews, automated technology, and adherence to the Australian Online Scams Code.
Meta reported removing 631 million fake accounts and 436 million spam posts in Q1 2024. The company continues to explore new methods to enhance user protection.
