🪙 Crypto News (Aug 8, 2024):

1️⃣ Binance: Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, has announced the listing of The Open Network (TON) for spot trading. Starting August 8, #TON will be available for trading in the pairs TON/BTC, TON/USDT, and TON/FDUSD. Additionally, Binance introduced support for USDⓈ-M perpetual contracts based on The Open Network on March 1st. 🚀

2️⃣ James S: According to a recent announcement from the Starknet team, James Stradwick will be stepping in as the new CEO. Stradwick joined Starknet in January 2024. Diego Oliva, the former CEO, will stay on for a transitional period to ensure a smooth handover of responsibilities. 🤝

3️⃣ CoinDesk: The Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM) has approved the creation of a cryptocurrency exchange-traded fund (ETF) based on Solana. This marks Brazil's first #ETF of its kind and one of the earliest Solana-based ETPs globally. A similar product was launched by 21Shares on the SIX Swiss Exchange in June 2021. 📈

4️⃣ Brad Garlinghouse: On August 7, 2024, the court set the penalty for Ripple, determining it must pay $125 million to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). This amount is significantly lower than the $2 billion originally sought by the SEC. #Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse hailed the decision as a victory for the company. Lawyer Jeremy Hogan believes that this settlement could bring an end to the long-standing conflict between Ripple and the SEC. ⚖️

5️⃣ Ethena Labs: Ethena Labs, the issuer of USDe, has now included #Solana (SOL) as collateral for its "synthetic dollar." Previously, users could only use Bitcoin, Ethereum, stETH, or USDT to back the stablecoin. 💵
