According to U.Today, the Shibarium layer-2 blockchain has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing six million blocks, with the current count at 6,018,526. This achievement comes just before the first anniversary of Shibarium's launch, which took place during the SHIB team's participation in the ETHToronto blockchain event in Canada last August. At that event, SHIB demonstrated its evolution beyond being merely a meme coin. However, the initial launch faced challenges due to overwhelming traffic, necessitating assistance from partners like the Polygon team.

This year, the SHIB team, led by the enigmatic developer Shytoshi Kusama, has raised $12 million to develop a layer-3 solution. This new layer aims to streamline transactions, reduce gas fees, and enhance user data protection. The development of this layer-3 solution signifies SHIB's ongoing commitment to improving its blockchain infrastructure and user experience.

In addition to the block count milestone, other key metrics for Shibarium have shown growth. The total transaction count has reached 417,991,273, and the number of connected wallets stands at 1,811,144. The SHIB price responded to the block count increase with a 3.22% rise on Sunday evening, reaching $0.00001726. However, a slight pullback has since brought the price down to $0.00001712. Over the weekend, SHIB experienced a notable increase of over 9%, followed by a 4.31% decline on Sunday, before beginning to recover.
