Andrew Left, founder of Citron Research, faces serious allegations from the SEC for securities fraud. The SEC claims Left misled retail investors, making $16 million through deceptive stock recommendations. He allegedly advised selling stocks he was buying and vice versa, creating a false market perception.

Between March 2018 and December 2023, Left reportedly manipulated trades in 23 companies, including Nvidia and Meta. The DOJ has also filed a criminal case, accusing him of lying about hedge fund compensation. If convicted, Left could face 25 years in prison.
