😨It's surprising how many are still unclear about how crypto gains are taxed in Germany!

With the tax deadline on 31st July approaching, let's clear this up once and for all! 🚨

The BSZt is clear that short-term capital gains from crypto held less than one year and any additional income from crypto is subject to Income Tax.

The tax rate you'll pay is the same as your regular Income Tax rate - up to 45% plus potentially the 5.5% Solidarity Tax.

💸 You pay tax on crypto gains if:

- You sell, swap, or spend crypto within the same year, netting over €600.

- You sell crypto used in staking/lending within one year.

👨🏼‍💻If you earn more than €256 from mining, staking, or other crypto income, you must file a tax return.
