Secretary of Defense Retired General Lloyd Austin must provide a briefing on blockchain applications by April 1, 2025. The briefing will cover six key findings, including a plan for pilot programs and research to explore blockchain in national security. Areas of focus will include supply chain management, cybersecurity for critical infrastructure, and procurement auditability.

This includes examining how blockchain is currently adopted in the supply chain industry, both in the US and internationally, in countries like China and Russia. The report also seeks to identify the feasibility and cost estimates of implementing blockchain technology in these areas.
