Many of you have $50K of rare sats in your Bitcoin wallets without knowing it!

What are rare sats? How can you hunt them?

Many will hate me, but I'm telling you everything herešŸ§µšŸ”½

SAT is the smallest unit of Bitcoin, 1 $BTC = 100,000,000 $SAT.

Since the arrival of the Ordinal protocol, it is possible to differentiate each SAT, each SAT has an index corresponding to its order of creation.

For example, SAT 0 is the first SAT mined by Satoshi Nakamoto.

Itā€™s a bit like rare ā‚¬2 coins, for most people itā€™s just a classic coin worth ā‚¬2, but for some who know about its rarity, its value can be 1000x more!

Itā€™s the same for SATs!

There are 6 rarity levels:

ā€¢ Common: Any SAT that is not the first SAT of its block
ā€¢ Uncommon: The first SAT of each block
ā€¢ Rare: The first SAT of each difficulty adjustment period
ā€¢ Epic: The first SAT of each halving epoch
ā€¢ Legendary: The first SAT of each cycle

The floor price for an uncommon SAT is ~$70.

The floor price for a rare SAT is 1.75 $BTC (almost $110K)

The other levels (epic, legendary, and mythic) are so rare they arenā€™t even for sale!

Imagine having a rare SAT in your wallet without knowing it!

How to check if you own rare SATs?

The first thing to understand is that your Bitcoin wallet does not contain $BTC, it contains UTXOs (Unspent Transaction Outputs) that allow you to spend $BTC.

Each UTXO contains ranges of SATs which may include rare SATs.

Letā€™s see step by step how to check this!

First, identify the address that contains the $BTC (actually UTXOs).

ā€¢ Copy it and paste it on mempool.space
ā€¢ Copy the received transaction

ā€¢ Go to ordinals.com and paste the transaction into the search bar

ā€¢ Identify the output that belongs to your address (search your address with ctrl+F)

ā€¢ Click on the output and you will see the ranges of SATs that belong to you

Now, check if they are rare!

To facilitate verification, I created a Python script where you enter the SAT range and the script tells you if there are any rare, uncommon, epic SATs in the range...

In the example, I donā€™t have any uncommon SATs but I do have some special SATs I havenā€™t told you about yet.

You can use this method to check the rare SATs in your wallet but you can also use it on other wallets whose owner you know.

If you find rare SATs you can ask them to trade these $BTC for other $BTC that donā€™t contain rare SATs.

There are other levels of rarity that are integrated into certain platforms like:
ā€¢ PIZZA: SAT from the 10,000 $BTC used to buy 2 pizzas
ā€¢ Nakamoto: SAT mined by Satoshi Nakamoto
ā€¢ Block 9: SAT mined in the oldest block in circulation

Itā€™s super easy to determine how rare a SAT is.

For example, for PIZZA we know their number is 10,000*100,000,000 which is 1 trillion!

In total, there are 2000 trillion SATs.

So only 0.05% of SATs are PIZZA SATs.

If you donā€™t own any rare SATs you can buy some on @MagicEden.

ā€¢ Go to the platform
ā€¢ Select Bitcoin
ā€¢ Click on ā€œRare Satsā€
ā€¢ Select the rarity level you wish

PIZZA SATs only cost a few dollars.

I advise you to look into SATs that have multiple attributes.

For example:
ā€¢ PIZZA
ā€¢ Vintage (first 1,000 blocks)
ā€¢ Nakamoto: Mined by Satoshi
ā€¢ First Transactions: From the first transaction to Finney
ā€¢ Block 9: The oldest circulating SATs from Block 9 They only cost $7.

The value of these special SATs will only increase, as time goes on their rarity will increase.

I also think that they will one day have utilities in the BTC ecosystem.

Buy a few for a few dollars and let them sleep in your wallet, in a few years youā€™ll see their price!
