According to U.Today, the team behind the Shiba Inu meme coin recently criticized tech giant Microsoft on social media following the largest IT outage in history earlier today. The team suggested that Windows needed 'a serious reboot.'

Microsoft's widely used Windows operating system ceased functioning due to a faulty software update from Texas-based cybersecurity company CrowdStrike. The global outage impacted various sectors, including airlines, hospitals, hotels, and even 911 emergency services in several US states. Some television news stations also struggled to air reports.

CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz stated that a fix has been deployed to resolve the issue. However, it remains unclear how long the recovery will take, as affected computers may require manual fixes. At press time, CrowdStrike shares had fallen by 10.5%, while Microsoft's shares were down nearly 1%.

Meanwhile, the Shiba Inu team highlighted the resilience of the Shibarium layer-2 network, noting that it processed approximately 5,400 transactions on July 18 and remained operational throughout the day. The crypto community, including Bitcoin proponents, also commented on the tech glitch, emphasizing that their respective cryptocurrencies continued to function properly despite the global IT outage affecting traditional banking institutions.
