According to Odaily, Kuleen Nimkar, the head of DePIN at the Solana Foundation, has announced plans to release the full version of the Firedancer upgrade in 2025. Prior to this, a 'lite' version will be launched. The upgrade is aimed at enhancing the overall reliability and scalability of Solana as the network activity of decentralized infrastructure protocols continues to grow.
Nimkar discussed the DePIN activities at DEFICON on May 23, stating, 'We see a lot of emerging deep projects doing everything.' DePIN, or Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network, refers to the use of blockchain to manage and operate physical infrastructure systems.
