Aave's decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) has launched the GHO stablecoin on the Arbitrum network following a vote. The DAO plans to roll out GHO on multiple networks over time, starting with Arbitrum due to its low transaction costs and high throughput. The phased deployment is a security and risk management strategy. Chainlink's CCIP protocol, which enables multi-chain GHO, allows the DAO to migrate the GHO stablecoin from the Ethereum network to Arbitrum and future networks. This interoperability is achieved through a burn-and-mint model and a lock-and-release function. Chainlink and Arbitrum have been fostering cross-chain development of decentralized applications since 2020.
