You've already lost all your crypto...

Due to silly mistakes, users lose $18 million every day!

I spent months understanding crypto security.

If I knew this before, I wouldn't have lost $100K.

āš¹ As the market grows, there are more and more instances of hacks and user fund losses.

āš¹ One of the latest HIGH-PROFILE events was the hacking of an OKX account belonging to a crypto enthusiast.

āš¹ The amount of funds lost was around $11M in just 25 minutes.

āš¹ To avoid becoming a victim of such events, you simply need to not neglect security.

āš¹ Even basic security methods will show significant results.

āš¹ I want to share with you 7 tips that can protect you from losing funds and various hacks:

ā€¢ 2FA

āš¹ The most basic and effective way to protect any account is two-factor authentication.

āš¹ Always set up 2FA through Google Authenticator since SMS to phones have several vulnerabilities.

āš¹ It was precisely for this reason that the account mentioned above was hacked.

ā€¢ Preventing Drain Contracts

āš¹ A common cause of fund loss is signing scam transactions that drain their wallets.

āš¹ A good solution for protection is the extension

āš¹ It emulates the transaction and shows you the result - if something is sent from your wallet, that's a red flag.

ā€¢ Disable Synchronization

āš¹ Your files can automatically sync to the cloud without you even knowing.

āš¹ Check the synchronization settings for iCloud and OneDrive, and if something important was synchronized, delete those files from the cloud.

āš¹ This way, your files cannot be accessed through a simple cloud hack.

ā€¢ Storing Seed Phrases/Private Keys

āš¹ A common mistake is storing such important data in the cloud or accessible files on the computer.

āš¹ After the first hack or leak, you will lose all your savings.

āš¹ Ideally, store such files on encrypted flash drives.

ā€¢ VeraCrypt

āš¹ An application that allows you to perform various encryption options:

ā€¢ Create a container by encrypting a specific area on the disk.

ā€¢ Encrypt the entire system.

ā€¢ Encrypt an external drive/flash drive.

āš¹ If you do not want to store files with seed phrases on a flash drive, at least create a container and put all the files in it.

āš¹ Ideally, you should encrypt the flash drive and transfer the files to the flash drive while your computer is offline.

āš¹ No one can access your files without entering the password.

āš¹ Therefore, I recommend creating passwords of 20+ characters, including uppercase/lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.

ā€¢ Wallet Passwords

āš¹ Few people create strong passwords for their wallets in extensions.

āš¹ This is wrong because if someone gains access to your PC via remote access, your wallets will be drained by simply guessing the password.

āš¹ Create passwords based on the principle from the previous tip.

ā€¢ Antivirus

āš¹ A very basic method of additional protection that almost everyone neglects.

āš¹ It's not a panacea, but it will make your device more secure.

āš¹ Do not skimp on purchasing a licensed antivirus, as crypto does not forgive mistakes.
