According to Odaily, the online gambling platform Sportsbet is suspected to have been attacked by hackers, resulting in a loss of over $3.5 million. This incident was detected by blockchain detective ZachXBT.
Earlier, the Turkish cryptocurrency exchange BtcTurk had announced that it had been subjected to a cyber attack on June 22. This attack affected the hot wallet balances of 10 types of cryptocurrencies. However, the majority of the assets were stored in secure cold wallets. BtcTurk assured that its financial strength was sufficient to cover the loss and that the users' assets would not be affected.
As a preventive measure, BtcTurk has temporarily suspended all cryptocurrency deposit and withdrawal operations. The team is currently conducting a detailed investigation into the incident.
