According to PANews, Jameson Lopp, the co-founder of Bitcoin custody company Casa, has issued a warning on an undisclosed platform. He urged all operators of LND nodes (Lightning Network nodes) running versions prior to 0.17.0 to update immediately to fix a severe vulnerability.
In addition, information shared by a user named @DavidShares on the same platform revealed that versions of LND prior to 0.17.0 are susceptible to malicious DoS attacks. Running older versions of LND could put funds at risk, as attacks are easy to occur. The severity of this issue is high due to the low cost and simplicity of the attacks. This severe vulnerability was discovered a year ago, in June 2023.
