Apple is reportedly close to a significant artificial intelligence (AI) breakthrough for its iPhone, with a potential agreement with OpenAI to incorporate ChatGPT into the upcoming iOS 18. This move is expected to enhance AI features across the platform and debut at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June.

The partnership could see generative AI integrated across various Apple apps, improving functionalities such as message summarization and search capabilities. To support this, Apple is preparing to run some of the new AI features on data centers powered by its own processors, reflecting its commitment to seamless integration of hardware, software, and services.

In addition to this, Apple is rumored to be overhauling Siri with generative AI, and is in talks with Google about integrating the Gemini chatbot into its ecosystem. However, these negotiations have yet to conclude. Apple's strategy aims to transform user-device interactions through AI, with the potential for new AI-driven features in iOS 18 promising to make Apple products even more indispensable to users.
