According to Odaily, OpenAI, a leading artificial intelligence company, experienced a security breach in 2023 but did not disclose the incident to the public. The breach was internally revealed during a meeting in April 2023, but the company chose not to make it public as the attacker did not access any information related to customers or partners.

The executives did not perceive the incident as a national security threat, believing that the attacker was an individual with no connections to any foreign government. Consequently, they did not report the incident to the Federal Bureau of Investigation or any other law enforcement agencies.

The attacker reportedly accessed OpenAI's internal messaging system and stole detailed information about the company's AI technology design from employee conversations on an online forum. However, they did not gain access to OpenAI's systems that house and build artificial intelligence, nor did they access any code.
