According to Odaily, Kunal Bhasin, Joint Director of Digital Assets at KPMG Canada, has suggested that institutional investors are likely to purchase tokenized high-value commercial real estate stocks as more opportunities arise. Bhasin believes that tokenization could change the ownership of large commercial buildings, which historically have been limited to wealthy real estate and pension fund managers.
This technology could allow institutional investors, such as family offices, to own partial equity in large buildings in Toronto, including major shopping centers and the Eaton Centre. Commercial real estate tokenization could effectively make this possible. Bhasin predicts that this will become one of the largest institutional use cases in the cryptocurrency industry.
