According to PANews, the Meme coin project SharkCat has been in talks with the Nala Cat team for the past ten days. However, negotiations have reached a deadlock as Nala's owners demanded 10% of the total supply, valued at $20 million at the time, and complete control over the project. SharkCat proposed a counteroffer to the Nala team, which included over $600,000 in tokens raised by community members, charity events for the Nala brand, free marketing initiatives, and the minting rights to sell Nala as an NFT. Furthermore, all SharkCat members who communicated with the Nala team were threatened with lawsuits. SharkCat community members involved in the discussion have decided not to succumb to these demands for the benefit of their community.

According to @0xjamoody, the owner of Nala Cat threatened to sue the SharkCat team over image and portrait rights after refusing a cooperation agreement worth $600,000. It is reported that Nala Cat is a famous cat blogger, and Nala Cat's agency is the renowned entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA). CAA is known for representing some big Hollywood names, including Tom Hanks, Will Smith, and Leonardo DiCaprio. CAA's ownership can be traced back to billionaire Francois-Henri Pinault's Groupe Artsamis, who acquired the majority of the company's shares in September 2023.
