Ripple is set to unlock 1 billion XRP tokens from its escrow system on January 1, 2025, following its monthly routine of releasing XRP via the XRP Ledger. This release will occur in three transactions: 200 million, 300 million, and 500 million XRP, collectively valued at over $2 billion.

The January 2025 unlock represents 1.74% of the current circulating supply of 57.25 billion XRP and 2.63% of the remaining 38 billion tokens still locked in Ripple's escrow accounts. The escrows set to finalize in the last moments of December 31 are managed by two known Ripple-controlled wallet addresses.

Specifically:

The ‘Ripple (24)’ wallet will release 200 million XRP and 300 million XRP. These tokens were originally locked in December 2020 and January 2021, respectively.

The ‘Ripple (25)’ wallet will unlock 500 million XRP, initially locked in January 2021.

This will mark the final unlocks from the ‘Ripple (24)’ and ‘Ripple (25)’ wallets, though additional escrows remain under Ripple’s control in other addresses.
