Tether is phasing out its euro-pegged stablecoin, EUR₮, asking users to redeem their holdings by November 2025. The decision, announced on November 27, aligns with evolving European regulations, such as the upcoming MiCA framework. Tether stopped minting EUR₮ in 2022, and its market cap stands at $27 million, a tiny fraction of its USD₮ counterpart. Despite this move, Tether plans to invest in MiCA-compliant stablecoins like EURQ and USDQ, developed by Quantoz Payments, using its Hadron technology to enhance stablecoin management and compliance.
