As Bitcoin rallies toward $100k, investors are scrambling to scoop up altcoins before the upcoming price rally.
Right now, Bitcoin’s dominance is rising. But as the market leader settles, altcoins will take over and become much more appealing to retail traders. So, what are the best altcoins to check out now?
Pepe Unchained
Pepe Unchained is pioneering in the Ethereum ecosystem by building the first Pepe-themed layer 2 blockchain.
The Pepe Chain cuts costs and boosts speeds compared to Ethereum, and its geared toward meme coin trading.
It even offers a flagship meme coin generator called Pepe Pump Pad, which allows everyday users to create their own meme coins without needing to know how to code.
Other features include staking, a block explorer, a dedicated Ethereum bridge, and a decentralized exchange.
Ethereum is the blockchain with the highest total value locked (TVL), standing at $59 billion.
This provides a massive tailwind for Pepe Uncahined’s growth, especially considering Ethereum users have watched Solana’s meme coin season from the sidelines. Now they can have their own on the Pepe Chain.
The project is undergoing a presale and has raised $40 million so far. Investors can still participate, but the ICO ends in 22 days, so they should be fast.

Flockerz
Flockerz is another project that challenges meme coin norms. Packed behind quirky bird-themed branding, Flockerz is creating an industry-first Vote-to-Earn decentralized autonomous organization.
At a time when crypto prices are soaring, this novel utility provides a distinction that could draw capital to Flockerz over other meme coins, which generally compete on artwork and community size.
Instead, Flockerz’s community is in complete control of the project. They can vote on every decision relating to its future and get paid for it.
This ensures that decision-making is open, fair, and based on the community’s best interests.
Flockerz holders can also stake their tokens to increase their rewards further. Currently, staking offers an 814% APY, but this will decrease over time.
The project is currently undergoing a presale and has raised $2.6 million so far.

Stacks
With Bitcoin on the brink of hitting $100k, related ecosystem tokens are doing well right now. One of those is Stacks, Bitcoin’s top layer 2 project.
Just like Pepe Unchained cuts costs and boost speeds for Ethereum, Stacks does the same for Bitcoin. However, Bitcoin doesn’t have smart contract functionality, so Stacks also brings that.
Bitcoin’s market cap now sits at a staggering $1.92 trillion. Stacks’ smart contract functionality opens this liquidity to new use cases like DeFi.

Grayscale recently published a report on Stacks, hailing its ability to bring smart contracts and dApps to the Bitcoin ecosystem, while leveraging its network security.
Currently, Stacks is trading at $1.92, up 4.55% today, at break even this week, and up 4.9% this month. It holds a $2.89 billion market cap and a $277 million 24-hour trading volume.
