Trump has chosen Matt Gaetz, a supporter of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies and a critic of federal agencies like the SEC, as his candidate for U.S. Attorney General.
Previously, Gaetz introduced a bill that would allow paying federal income taxes with Bitcoin.
Trump is also considering Howard Lutnick, CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald, for the position of U.S. Treasury Secretary. Lutnick has collaborated with Tether and spoke at the Bitcoin 2024 conference.
