🌟 Breaking News: Unibot Hacked, Users Lose Over $600,000
The popular chatbot solution platform, Unibot, fell victim to a hack resulting in the theft of over $600,000 in users' funds. According to insights from on-chain analyst Lookonchain, a hacker specifically targeted and drained assets from Unibot users' wallets. Lookonchain issued a warning, advising Unibot users to swiftly transfer remaining funds to new wallets and revoke contract approvals to prevent further losses.
Shortly after Lookonchain's warning, Unibot acknowledged the breach. They revealed that the attack stemmed from a vulnerability in their newly implemented router contract, allowing hackers to hijack approved user tokens. While Unibot temporarily halted its router to address the issue, significant damage had already been done.
In response, Unibot assured affected users of compensation due to the "router exploitation," emphasizing the safety of their private wallet keys. However, this did little to ease the distress of those who saw their crypto assets drained against their will. Unibot also pledged a detailed report following their investigation.
Following this incident, Unibot's governance token, UNIBOT, plummeted by over 42%, indicating a significant loss of trust among token holders and platform users. At the current market price, UNIBOT is trading at $43.23, up from its low of $36.45. Nevertheless, the token still remains below its 24-hour peak of $58. This recent Unibot hack serves as a stark reminder to prioritize crypto asset security and exercise independent vigilance.
