**Hacker Pleads Guilty to $37M Crypto Theft**
A hacker from Indiana, Evan Frederick Light, has admitted to stealing over $37 million in cryptocurrency from nearly 600 victims. Light accessed an investment firm’s servers to swipe customer info and funds, then laundered the money through crypto mixers and gambling sites to hide his tracks.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) announced Light's guilty plea on Sept. 30. He faces up to 20 years in prison for each charge, plus potential fines and restitution. The DOJ emphasized its commitment to catching cybercriminals, stating, "No one is beyond our reach."
