According to Odaily, ENS Labs, the company behind the Ethereum Name Service, announced on Tuesday its decision to utilize Linea's technology for developing its forthcoming Layer 2 network, Namechain. Linea, a zero-knowledge rollup technology, was introduced by Ethereum infrastructure giant Consensys in July 2023.
ENS Labs cited two primary reasons for choosing Linea for their network development. The first reason is the alignment of values between ENS Labs and Linea, suggesting a shared vision and goals that make the collaboration a natural fit. The second reason is related to speed, indicating that Linea's technology offers the performance capabilities necessary for ENS Labs' ambitious plans.
This move positions ENS Labs as one of the first major projects to build a Layer 2 blockchain using Linea's technology, marking a significant step in the evolution of Ethereum's infrastructure and the broader blockchain ecosystem.
