**News Flash: Memecoin NEIRO Surges Despite Vitalik Buterin's Dump**

A lesser-known memecoin, NEIRO, has seen a wild ride recently. The token attempted to gain credibility by airdropping 4% of its supply to Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, making him its largest holder. However, Buterin quickly sold his 17.1 billion NEIRO tokens for 44.5 ETH, worth around $103,000 at the time, causing the token to initially dip by 60%.

Surprisingly, NEIRO bounced back, surging over 200% to an all-time high of $0.000038 on August 5. The team behind NEIRO even cheekily asked Buterin to donate part of his proceeds to a stray dog shelter.

Despite this surge, the memecoin market is struggling overall, with major tokens like PEPE, WIF, FLOKI, and BOME dropping between 18% and 20% in the past 24 hours. Additionally, concerns about NEIRO being a potential scam have surfaced, with multiple variations of the token appearing on different platforms.
