Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg has announced criminal charges against Michael Lauchlan, aka Max Handler, for running a fake crypto asset recovery business, Coin Dispute Network (CDN). Lauchlan allegedly defrauded clients by promising to recover lost crypto assets but instead pocketed their fees and Ethereum (ETH).

Key Points:

- Lauchlan posed as CDN’s VP & Chief Recovery Officer.

- Clients paid in ETH to speak with a “recovery analyst.”

- Charges: 3 counts of grand larceny, 2 counts of scheme to defraud.
