Smartphone web3 ai blockchain

Coming in 2024, there is Up Mobile, the first Web3 smartphone that offers the advantages of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and is based on Blockchain technology. Unlike the classic Apple and Google smartphones, with Up Mobile there are no more obstacles or bans on Web3 applications.

Up Mobile: the features of the first Web3 smartphone with the advantages of AI and blockchain

Up Network, a team that connects mobile devices to the blockchain, has launched Up Mobile: the first Web3 smartphone that offers the advantages of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and blockchain.

Collaborating with the team is Movement Labs which provides the blockchain technology for the adoption of the Move language created by Facebook, to provide pioneering levels of security and privacy to the user experience.

Last April 2024, Movement Labs had raised a Series A funding of 38 million dollars, to integrate Facebook’s Move Virtual Machine on the Ethereum blockchain.

In any case, Up Network already has a waiting list of over 10,000 people for its Web3 smartphone. Not only that, the team aims to distribute around 100,000 phones by the end of this 2024.

With dozens of ecosystem partners already on board and a potential user base of nearly 7 billion mobile phone users globally, Up Network is ready for rapid growth and adoption.

Up Mobile: the smartphone based on AI and blockchain and the apps of Web3

In honor of the launch of UP Mobile, Roy Liu, the co-founder of Up Network, also spoke, commenting as follows:

“Every Web3 user uses an Apple or Google smartphone, but most Web3 applications are banned or hindered due to the unfavorable conditions of Apple’s AppStore and Google’s Play Store. We need a smartphone that offers a Web3 user experience and an ecosystem that supports innovation and distribution. Finally, 2024 brings more availability to the public and we are equipped with all the necessary tools and acceptance. Our strategic partnership with Movement Labs is destined to revolutionize this space, making Web3 accessible to everyone, marking an era of Web3 revolution for consumers.”

In practice, Liu emphasizes the importance that the new Web3 smartphone is not from Apple or Google, so that it can be free from the conditions of the two giants that often hinder or ban Web3 applications.

Next, Liu highlights the collaboration with Movement Labs as fundamental for the usability of theAI.

The artificial intelligence algorithms are employed to process and create unique digital identifiers using facial recognition and fingerprint data, ensuring that each user can register only once. However, thanks to the “zero-knowledge proof” technology, the identity is demonstrated without revealing any biometric data.

Not only that, the operating system integrates large local language models (LLM), which offer assistance to users for daily tasks, such as booking a dinner appointment or keeping a shopping list.

All these processes are private and local to the device, which makes them much more reliable solutions compared to standard cloud-based practices.

Solana Saga

And if we talk about Web3 smartphones, it’s easy to think of the Solana Saga, whose first model was launched in the summer of 2022, distributed to the public in Q1 2023, and sold at the base price of $1000.

In this 2024, then, the announcement of the second version of the Solana Saga has been made, which features the same basic characteristics as the first model but at a significantly lower price than the first.

Basically, the Solana Saga has an integrated crypto-wallet, customized Android software, and a “dApp store” for Web3 applications.

Among the latest innovations of the Solana ecosystem device, there is the introduction of APhone (DePIN), a virtual smartphone app based on the web.
