Sovereign Nature Initiative (SNI) has inked a strategic partnership deal with Unique Network and WalletConnect on Polkadot. Their collaborative effort is linked with the launch of DOTphin, an eco-linked dynamic multi-pass that supports biodiversity restoration. Based on the schedule, the DOTphin solution will officially launch during Polkadot Decoded 2024.
DOTphin on Polkadot and its Environmental Impact
Noteworthy, DOTphin supports positive environmental changes through the use of dynamic Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). The protocol also enhances event engagement while delivering real-world ecological impact. Precisely, this project presents events in such a way that participation from users is encouraged and interaction is fostered.
This approach is adopted in a bid to place digital evolution side by side with sustainability. In the long run, these events become highly rewarding, and user engagement sails at a safe pace. Each DOTphin pass holds the image of an avatar which represents an NFT. This evolves through a series of physical and digital events while bringing community engagement and sustainability support to the Polkadot ecosystem.
The strong support gotten from the community through the Polkadot OpenGov fueled the approval of this initiative. Those who attend the Polkadot Decoded 2024, scheduled to be held on July 11 will receive eco-badges. This will mark the initial phase of the official launch of the DOTphin. Later, the eco-badges will serve as the key for collecting unique DOTphin NFTs.
Also, EthCC ticket holders stand the chance of receiving a free Decoded ticket and their first Proof of Attendance Protocol (POAP). These are useful for unlocking a multi-event and multi-month journey that will provide support to marine conservation efforts.
One key feature of DOTphin is its crucial alignment with Polkadot’s green blockchain credentials. The blockchain network boasts of a very low carbon footprint and is focused on users and investors who are largely conscious of their environment. Only three weeks ago, Nabatech, a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) company, selected Polkadot’s Substrate framework to host its digital asset platform for central banks and financial institutions.
After running several blockchains through checks on the basis of security, coding language, runtime, Sybil resistance, enactment of internal organizational business processes, governance, and interoperability, Polkadot’s Substrate was chosen.
Meanwhile, the blockchain is looking forward to a significant upgrade known as the Joint Accumulation Machine (JAM). JAM is poised to bring efficiency and substantial improvements to the network’s functionality.
