The cost to mine 1 $BTC

Mining Bitcoin costs money, and it's getting
pricier for miners considering the most
recent reward halving. CoinShares tells us
it's about $53,000 to mine one Bitcoin
these days, and that's an average that
large mining companies spend on one BTC.

For those who don't know, halving means miners get half the Bitcoin they used to get for decoding blocks that contain data about the Bitcoin network. Because they'll be getting less Bitcoin, what it costs to run their mining machines, mostly the electricity, could feel like it's doubled.

There's a bright side, though. Some smart miners are moving to places where they can get cheaper, often wasted energy, like gas that would be burned off anyway. They are starting to mine in countries where energy is stable and not so expensive. This could be a game-changer that would fuel the network in the foreseeable future.

The cost of $BTC must be trading above a certain price in order for mining to be profitable.

BITCOIN HALVING CONFIRMED! 🎇 🎇

The final block out of 210,000 blocks has just been mined! 🔥

Every time we reach 210,000 mined blocks on the blockchain, we experience the Bitcoin halving event which happens roughly every 4 years. This is a crucial part of the entire crypto ecosystem as the mechanism reduces the block rewards to miners by half, resulting in less and less $BTC coming into circulation every halving hence why we usually see a rise in price. 

SCARCITY = VALUE

As of right now,  the reward is 3.125 BTC for every block mined compared to 6.25 (half) prior to the halving just this morning. It takes approximately 10 minutes for a block to be mined (around 144 blocks per day) and the final ever BTC to be mined is estimated to occur around the year 2140 which is when all 21 million BTC will be in circulation. At this point, miners will no longer receive BTC rewards but transaction fees.    

We are experiencing history being made right before our eyes. It's exciting, it’s our future, it’s our financial freedom.
