#DOGE Vitalik Buterin once again expressed his support for the Dogecoin community
In an indirect move showing support and respect for the Dogecoin community, Ethereum blockchain founder Vitalik Buterin sent his condolences on the passing of Kabosu – the iconic dog behind the legendary Shiba Inu meme .
Buterin tweeted “Rest in peace Kabochan” in response to Kabosu owner Atsuko Sato (@kabosumama)'s tweet about the Shiba Inu passing away at the age of 19.
In 2010, Kabosu became famous thanks to Sato's photos that went viral on social networks. In 2013, inspired by this Doge meme, Billy Markus and Jackson Palmer created the first memecoin – Dogecoin (DOGE). Kabosu morphed into the DOGE mascot and became even more popular with the ever-expanding Dogecoin army.
Upon Kabosu's passing, many leading figures in the cryptocurrency community, including Elon Musk, the official Dogecoin account, and DOGE founder Markus paid tribute to Kabosu, sharing the community's grief. Dogecoin coin.
This is not the first time Buterin has shown support for the DOGE community. Previously, the founder of Ethereum made several large donations to the Dogecoin Foundation. In 2021, Buterin became a member of this organization in an effort to put forward a number of proposals to improve DOGE. One of them is to transfer DOGE from PoW to PoS algorithm. #Dogecoin
